Hello OrlandoDevs Community! I’m excited to introduce myself! My name is Alexus Jalanea Jenkins, but please call me Jalanea. I’m a 23-year-old undergraduate in the Computer Technology and Software Development program at Valencia College. I grew up in Pine Hills, FL, where my passion for art began. At just eight years old, I won second place in the Orlando Fair Competition among K-12 students. This early success fueled my love for art, leading me to develop an online webcomic called <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://tapas.io/episode/839973"> <a data-hashtag class="hashtag" data-id="Unison" href="/search?hashtag=Unison">#Unison</a> Comics</a> and create art commissions from ages 13-18 (If you want to view my portfolio, click <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://jalaneasprints.webflow.io/art-design/art">here</a>). After high school, I took a gap year to explore art-related careers, working as an illustrator for a children’s book and creating mascots and conceptual artwork for local artists like Jason Sawby. However, I soon realized that my true calling lay in design. With a passion for bringing websites, apps, and web applications to life, I chose to pursue a degree in Computer Technology and Software Development. Recently, I left my job at Wawa, Inc. in Winter Garden, where I worked for two and a half years, to start my own business called "<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://jalaneasprints.webflow.io/">Jalanea's Prints</a>"(<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.instagram.com/jalaneasprints/">Instagram</a>). This marketplace allows aspiring creatives to sell their ideas in various mediums alongside their rights to aspiring entrepreneurs. Additionally, entrepreneurs can hire affordable social media managers to handle their marketing. I’ve completed the final design of the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.figma.com/proto/JsaSjYy4jOnUOksMOC5Qjw/JP---Turning-Dreams-into-Reality?page-id=391%3A78225&amp;node-id=391-78226&amp;viewport=2800%2C-737%2C1&amp;t=CUvmAfaz3jFLkHMm-1&amp;scaling=min-zoom&amp;content-scaling=fixed&amp;starting-point-node-id=391%3A78226&amp;show-proto-sidebar=1">prototype</a> and am currently working on developing the app, aiming for a summer launch.
